South Florida Bracing For Cold Front

Get out the winter coats. A cold weather front will make its way through South Florida bringing with it wind chills falling below 35 degrees Monday night.

Temperatures Monday night and Tuesday morning will be in the upper 40s to low 50s, according to Local 10 Weather.

A north wind of around 10 miles per hour inland and around 15 miles per hour along the coast will create wind chills about five degrees colder, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind chill advisory is in effect for inland Broward and inland Miami-Dade counties Monday night.

South Florida saw cold temperatures at the beginning of March. On March 9, temperatures hit a low of 52. The record low temperature in March was 48 degrees set in 1915.

Spring break visitors can trade in the coats for swimsuits soon enough, however.

"It's going to start warming up quickly and by mid week we expect to be back around 80 degrees," said Trent Aric, Local 10's chief meteorologist.
