Tropical Storm Ernesto began moving into the Bay of Campeche after dumping heavy rains on Mexico and Central American since late Tuesday.
In the NHC's 5 p.m. advisory, Ernesto was about 30 miles east of Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph with higher gusts. It was moving west at 13 mph.
Ernesto made landfall near Mahahual, Mexico as a Category 1 Hurricane about 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Ernesto was expected to continue moving west with a decrease in forward speed over the next 48 hours. The storm is expected to be near or above the Gulf coast of Mexico on Thursday.

- Barra de Nautla to Coatzacoalcos
A tropical storm warning is in effect for:
- Celestun to Barra de Nautla along the gulf coast of Mexico
