SANDERSON, Fla. -

Portions of Interstate 10 eastbound and westbound are closed Tuesday morning due to heavy flooding, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

I-10 westbound from U.S. Highway 90 to Interstate 75 is closed.

U.S. 90 east of County Road 231 in Sanderson is covered with standing water.

State Road 121 at Steel Bridge Road in Macclenny is under water.

US-1 northbound at Roy Booth Road is under water.

US-90 remains open as an alternate route for drivers in this area.

Debby has dropped up to two feet of rain in some parts of north Florida and promises to bring more of the same Tuesday as it moves slowly on a path forecast to take it over the state and into the Atlantic Ocean by Friday.

The National Hurricane Center said Debby was about 85 miles west of Cedar Key and moving eastward near 3 mph. It had maximum sustained winds near 45 mph.
