Isaac slowly weakens over central Louisiana
Isaac was slowly weakening as it continued to spin life-threatening severe weather over central Louisiana.
At 11 a.m. Thursday, Isaac was about 165 miles northwest of New Orleans with maximum sustained winds at 40 mph. It was moving north-northwest at 9 mph.

Isaac was expected to turn north on Friday. The storm is expected to further weaken as it moves inland, and could become a tropical depression late Thursday.

Meantime, Tropical Depression #12 formed in the open Atlantic as Kirk was upgraded to a hurricane.
On Thursday, NOAA released a picture showing flight paths through Isaac.
