On this date, Blue Canyon, Calif., set a 24-hour February snowfall record on this date in 1985 by receiving 42 inches of snow from Feb. 7-8. This might not be as surprising when you realize that Blue Canyon receives an average of 241 inches of snow in a year, making it one of the snowiest places in the lower 48 states.
