Tropical Storm Michael strengthened in the eastern Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday morning, but the National Hurricane Center said the system poses no threat to land.

In the NHC's 5 p.m. advisory, Michael was about 1,210 miles west-southwest of the Azores with winds of 50 mph. Michael was moving north-northwest at 7 mph.

Michael was expected to move north during the next two days, keeping the system over eastern Atlantic waters.

Tropical Storm Leslie drifts north

Meantime, Tropical Storm Leslie became better organized as it drifted northward on Tuesday, said the National Hurricane Center.

In the NHC's 5 p.m. advisory, Leslie was about 500 miles south-southeast of Bermuda with winds reaching 65 mph. Leslie was moving north at 3 mph.

Leslie was expected to continue moving north, at times erratically, over the next couple of days. Some strengthening is forecast, and Leslie could become a hurricane in a couple of days.
