Area of low pressure brings increased chance of rain

National Hurricane Center calls for 50 percent chance of tropical cyclone development

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – An area of low pressure in the Bay of Campeche will bring an increased chance of rain to South Florida.

Local 10 News meteorologist Julie Durda said there will be an increased chance of heavy rain and flooding potential beginning Tuesday and lasting through much of the week.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami is calling for a 50 percent chance of tropical cyclone development in the next five days.

"It could develop anywhere from the southwest Gulf of Mexico or even into the Caribbean (Sea)," Durda said.
