- ...Rain mixed with some snow falling across the area... A band of light to moderate rain will continue to move slowly south across the area through the morning. Most of this will be about 20 miles either side of Interstate 90...and cross into northeast Iowa around noon. The rain may create some icy patches on sheltered roads on the north side of hills. Where the precipitation is heavier...it may mix with or change to snow. A quick inch of snow would be possible...especially over the higher terrain areas and ridge tops. Additional slushy and slick spots are possible on roads where the rain changes to snow. Allow some extra time to reach your destination where it is raining or snowing.
