Tropical Depression 2 was becoming better organized as it moved toward Mexico on Wednesday morning.
At 11 a.m., the depression was 95 miles north of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. It was moving west at 9 mph.
The depression will likely become a tropical storm sometime Wednesday. It was forecast to move over Veracruz on Thursday morning.
A tropical storm watch was issued from Punda el Lagarto westward to Barra de Nautla.
