MIAMI – Tropical Storm Melissa continued to race east-northeastward Wednesday night over the northeastern Atlantic Ocean.
At 10 p.m., Melissa was about 820 miles west of the Azores with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph. It was moving east-northeast at 30 mph.

Little change in strength was forecast, but the National Hurricane Center said Melissa is expected to lose tropical characteristics on Thursday or Friday.
