NEWARK, N.J. - A dog on its way to Asia was rescued from a swamp after it escaped from a New Jersey airport.

Dart, a collie, escaped United Airlines' pet transport service on Monday, The Associated Press reported.

The dog made its way to a swamp, where it became stuck in mud, according to the AP.

Airport police used a rowboat to carry out the 45-minute rescue, according to the AP.

After being cleaned up, Dart was reunited with its owner and made its flight.
