Marijuana activists celebrate 420 on Easter Sunday and all year long

Despite public smoking ban, 420 partying evidence circulates on social media

A boy  was seen wearing marijuana leaf glasses at a festival held in Denver Sunday.

It was Easter Sunday. And the nationwide "smoke-out" started at 4:20 p.m.

Police tweet on marijuana

Thousands were lighting up joints at the Denver 420 rally in Civic Center Park. Denver police tweeted there were 130 arrests at the event including 92 for marijuana-consumption citations.

In San Francisco the rally to legalize marijuana was at the Golden Gate Park's Hippie Hill. And since Colorado is the first state in the nation to legalize recreational marijuana, this week the party will last all week.

Public consumption is still banned, but that didn't stop the posts on social media.

In Seattle,  Snoop Dogg smoked on stage during his "Snoop's Wellness Retreat" tour Saturday.

And according to event organizers vaporizer devices will be available for sale during Hempfest on August in Seattle where volunteers are being asked to dress up as "Hempfest Superheroes."

And if the marijuana activism gives you a bad trip, you will not be happy to find out that the rallies will continue all through 2015. The High Times Cannabis Cup hosts events in San Francisco in June, Michigan in July, Seattle in September and Los Angeles in February of next year.
