MERIDEN, Conn. - A woman was caught trying to abandon her elderly cat at a Connecticut animal shelter.
Volunteers with the Meriden Humane Society were at the shelter, looking after a sick dog when they heard the woman outside, according to WFSB.
When they confronted the woman, she admitted she was planning to dump her pet there.
Volunteers said the nearly 20-year-old cat appeared to be close to death, but the cat is recovering at an animal hospital.
They've named her "Clover."
