FHP says shooting stemmed from fight outside strip club

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Three people were wounded in an early morning shooting near Interstate 95 in northeast Miami-Dade County.

The shooting occurred shortly before 5:30 a.m. on the northbound on-ramp to I-95 from Miami Gardens Drive.

Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho said two groups of people got into a fight in the parking lot of The Office strip club. After the altercation, a black car pulled up to a silver GMC sport utility vehicle and the occupants started shooting at each other, Camacho said.

Two of the three people in the GMC were taken to Aventura Hospital with gunshot wounds. Their injuries aren't considered life-threatening.

A third victim was taken to the hospital by private ambulance. Police say that victim's injuries are not as significant as the others.

The GMC was stopped in the roadway with its hazard lights on.

Camacho said the driver of the black car fled the scene.

The northbound ramp was closed during the shooting investigation.
