Varying types of auto insurance

Every insurance policy is going to have limitations and exclusions, but learn what types of auto insurance you can get. Here are a few types of first party auto coverages:

-Comprehensive: for damage caused to an insured vehicle due to something other than collision. Usually this will be fire, theft, vandalism or weather damage.

-Collision: for damage to the insured vehicle due to collision with another object.

-Towing and Roadside Assistance: access to a 24-hour service in the event of a problem with your vehicle.

-Rental Reimbursement: in the event that the insured vehicle becomes undrivable, this provides a reimbursement on a rental car.

-Uninsured Motorist: this is if the insured vehicle is damaged in an accident caused by an uninsured motorist - also providing coverage for bodily injury to the insured driver and passengers.

-Medical Payment: provides reimbursement for injury medical payments to an insured driver and passengers in the event of a loss.

In order to get these coverages, you need to get a quote. There are three common ways you can do this: via the internet, over the phone, or in person at a local agency.

Once you have your quotes, make sure to review the details and ensure they meet your needs. You can then contact the insurance company to let them know the quote is acceptable and that you’d like a policy.
