Jungle Island searching for name for baby flamingo

Naming contest winner awarded 4 free tickets to Jungle Island

MIAMI – A new addition to the Jungle Island family has hatched. A baby flamingo was welcomed into the world earlier this week and now the little bird needs a name.

Jungle Island is inviting the public to join a social media naming contest over the Memorial Day weekend.

To enter, go to Jungle Island's Facebook page and find the photo of the unnamed baby flamingo. Comment by tagging a friend and leaving a name suggestion.

The winner will be announced Monday and will receive free park admission for four people, along with four all-day passes to the Rainforest Riptide.

The entire flock of American flamingos is on display daily at Jungle Island. Veterans, active military, police and fire personnel are encouraged to visit free of charge from May 28-30. Up to four accompanying family members will receive a 50 percent discount during that time. One child also gets in free, with each paying adult.
