U.S. Marines Salute Local 10 News' Big Bus Toy Express

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Colonel Jonathan Price and First Sergeant Daniel Serrano have a combined 43 years of service.  Today, part of that service included making a stop at WPLG-Local 10.

They came dressed in full United States Marines uniform and with two awards in tow.  They came to show their appreciation for Local 10’s Big Bus Toy Express, which thanks to our generous viewers, collected 15,000 brand new toys last December.  Since 2014, the Big Bus Toy Express has collected 31,000 toys for the Toys for Tots program.

“Local 10 is our number one contributor,” said Colonel Jonathan Price.  “You make up 25 percent of all the toys we receive.”

Local 10 Community Relations Director, Mayte Padron, was on hand to accept the honor, which included the Commander’s Award. That award reads in part, “Your generous contributions have enabled the Marine Corps to bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children.”

Local 10 dedicates the awards to its viewers and salutes all U.S. Marines for their many contributions to this country.  Oorah!
