MIAMI – Some local high school seniors got a big surprise Tuesday.
They were celebrated by their mentors and Local 10 News anchor/reporter Neki Mohan.
At the graduation luncheon at Jungle Island the Women of Tomorrow mentoring organization, 176 students received college scholarships worth more than $250,000.
Mohan, who is a mentor with the organization and the 2017 mentor of the year, helped give out the awards.
The students said being in the program has inspired them to excel.
Women of Tomorrow puts mentors in every public high school in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
