Boy inspires parents to organize toy drive for children with special needs in Miami-Dade

Big Bear Academy students celebrate holiday season

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. — Six-year-old Bradley Migenis, who lives with cerebral palsy, and other children with special needs welcomed this holiday season with fast cars in Miami-Dade.

Ring Motorsports in Palmetto Bay lined up the cars full of toys to bring joy to Bradley, a wheelchair user, and other students at the Big Bear Academy PPEC.

Bradley’s parents, Vilma and Jose Migenis, of the Fueled by Hope Foundation, partnered with other organizations to make the toy drive happen.

“My heart is so full because I always want Bradley to be a part of this community,” Vilma Migenis said. “I don’t want him to be forgotten.”

Jose Migenis said his son Bradley has been a guiding light since he was born.

“In life you have speed bumps, you have to pivot and make U-turns sometimes,” Jose Migenis said about how he and his family have adapted to the challenge.
