PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Current and former NFL players are hitting the links for a good cause.
Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Vernon Carey will host the eighth annual Vernon Carey Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament on Friday.

More than 120 participants, including current and former NFL players and community leaders, will be joining Carey.
The tournament will take place at the Weston Hills Country Club. The day will begin with breakfast and registration at 7:30 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m. with a lunch and presentation of awards.
Money raised from the tournament will fund the Vernon Carey Foundation's programs, including the One Step Closer to a Brighter Future mentoring program with Miami-Dade County and Broward County public middle schools, back to school sneaker shopping spree event, Thanksgiving meal giveaway, holiday mall shopping spree, and charitable contributions to youth athletics and education.
