Over 42,000 pounds of undercooked ready-to-eat chicken recalled

MIAMI – An Alabama company is recalling nearly 43,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken after numerous complaints the products were undercooked.

WFSP Foods LLC is recalling grilled chicken breasts produced between March 29, 2017 and April 7, 2017. The chicken breasts were shipped to hotels, restaurants and other locations nationwide.

The following products have been recalled:

  • 9-lb. foodservice cases containing 8 poly film packages of “CHEF’S LINE ALL NATURAL FIRE GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST” with product code 22586, produced on 04/07/17, and Best by date 06/14/17.
  • 9-lb. foodservice cases containing 8 poly film packages of “saladworks FULLY COOKED FLAME GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST FILLETS” with product code 22500, produced on 03/29/17 and Use by date 06/05/17. 

All recalled products bear the P-45411 establishment number inside the USDA's mark of inspection.  

Bacterial pathogens may survive in undercooked chicken, posing a health hazard to those who eat the recalled products.

The USDA urges consumers who have purchased the products to throw them away or return the items to the place of purchase.
