Fire extinguisher manufacturer Kidde is recalling 37.8 million extinguishers in the U.S. and more than 2 million in Canada.
The company issued the recall over a problem with plastic handles.

A 2014 death from a car fire has been blamed on a defective fire extinguisher.
According to Kidde, emergency responders couldn't get the recalled extinguisher to work.
The recalled extinguishers were sold at Sears, The Home Depot, Walmart and Amazon.
