Fighting safety incident reports decrease in Miami-Dade

Despite reduction in fights, violence remains main challenge

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Despite remaining at the top of Florida's most violent schools, fighting and battery reports decreased slightly in Miami-Dade public schools, according to Florida Department of Education records.

The school district showed a 7 percent reduction in fighting and a 36 percent reduction in battery reports during the 2013-2014 school year, when there weren't any homicides reported.
