Collins Elementary School evacuated after receiving bomb threat

All-clear given just before 3:30 p.m.

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Collins Elementary School in Dania Beach was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after the school received a bomb threat, authorities said.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said its bomb squad responded at 2:10 p.m. to the school at 1050 NW Second St.

BSO spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said the threat was determined to be unfounded and the all-clear was given at 3:25 p.m.

Still, parents were very worried when they showed to pick up their children.

"(There were about) 20 cop cars out here, about 15 undercover cars. I was kind of like scared for my children," Maranda Robinson said. "I didn't know if the bus had already come picked them up or what. I just wanted to know what was going on with my kids."

No other details were immediately released from authorities.
