Now's the time for South Florida students to enter to become Local 10's Eco-Hero and make the journey of a lifetime to Antarctica.

In past years, Eco-Heroes have gone to Machu Pichu and to Canada to see the beauty of the Rockies, but this time the winner will go with Local 10’s Kristi Krueger and Zoo Miami's Ron Magill to the end of the Earth.
"This year we are going to a place I've dreamt about all my life. We are going to the bottom of the world -- Antarctica," Magill said. "It's something I've dreamed about all my life. It's a place I thought I'd never be able to see, but now to be able to go there and to document it and to bring a student."
If you know a high school student (ages 15-18) in Miami-Dade or Broward Counties who has volunteered to do something extraordinary to help the environment (e.g.: started a recycling program, organized a beach cleanup, contributed to wildlife rehabilitation, etc.), nominate them for a chance of being selected as South Florida's student "Eco-Hero!"
The winner will receive and all expenses paid trip to Antarctica courtesy of Zoo Miami and the Zoo Miami Foundation. The trip will be escorted by Zoo Miami's Ron Magill and will be documented by Local 10 anchor Kristi Krueger. The resulting documentary will be broadcast at a later date as a Local 10 special program! The winner gets to bring an adult parent/guardian making the total prize package worth over $30,000. The trip will take place in early January of 2018.
