Endangered Tiger cub debuts at Zoo Miami

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Zoo Miami's newest family is ready for his grand debut.

For the first time since being born at the zoo on Nov. 14, the highly endangered Sumatran tiger cub has been given the freedom to roam around his exhibit for feedings and "play time."

The unnamed cub has been given several weeks of supplemental feedings and is showing positive growth.

Zoo staff has already begun feeding the cub in the exhibit in the afternoon, after which he is allowed to do some "exploring" to familiarize himself with the area.
