BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lindsay Lohan's stepmother was arrested early Friday in Boca Raton after she got into a domestic dispute with her husband, police said.
Kate Lohan was booked into the main Palm Beach County jail shortly after 3 a.m. on a battery charge.
She is the stepmother of "Mean Girls" actress Lindsay Lohan.
According to a Boca Raton police probable cause affidavit, Kate Lohan and her husband, Michael Lohan, got into an argument about a cellphone. Michael Lohan told police he walked outside to try to get away from Kate Lohan, but she followed him, shouting at him about the cellphone and then throwing a glass candle holder at him. It missed and hit a palm tree behind him, shattering into pieces.
Police said some of the glass fell onto Michael Lohan's left forearm, cutting him. He left and called police.
When Officer Kevin Calhoun met with Kate Lohan, she said she didn't know how her husband cut his arm. She said Michael Lohan told her that he was going to hurt himself and call police "to get her in trouble."
Calhoun asked her about the glass in the front lawn, but Kate Lohan said she didn't know how it got there.
This isn't the first time Kate Lohan has been in trouble with the law.
She was accused of kicking a Delray Beach police officer who was taking her to jail after an argument with her estranged husband in 2016. Palm Beach County court records show she pleaded guilty to battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence and was sentenced to six months in jail, receiving credit for time served.
Lindsay Lohan rose to fame for her starring roles remaking Disney's "The Parent Trap" in 1998 and "Freaky Friday" in 2003. She went on to star in 2004's "Mean Girls" and 2005's "Herbie: Fully Loaded."
