Love of contemporary art inspires parties and stores

MIAMI – Miami Beach and Miami's Wynwood and Design District neighborhoods are going to be full of promotional events, artists' parties and satellite fairs during Art Basel Miami Beach.

Wynwood Walls' humanKIND

Goldman Properties' Jessica Goldman Srebnick brought 12 artists to work in the complex. They are Leon Keer from Amsterdam, Bordalo II from Portugal, Martin Watson from Norway, four artists from France, and five from around the country. The artists from France are Seth Globepainter, eL Seed, 2SHY and Pro176. The artists from the U.S. are Joe Lurato, Tristan Eaton, Lady Pink, Audrey Kawasaki and Risk.  The complex re-opens with their new work from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Thursday at 2520 NW 2nd Ave.  

Art at Collins Park

The adjacent Collins Park will have an exhibit with 11 pieces curated by Philipp Kaiser. The artists included are Frida Baranek, Yto Barrada, Syrinx, Daniel Buren, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Philippe Decrauzat, Noël Dolla, Cyprien Gaillard, Daniel Knorr, Harold Mendez, Manuela Viera-Gallo and Brenna Youngblood.

ARTFASHION

Costume designer Patricia Field's ARTFASHION pop-up shop will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. at the   White Dot Gallery, 2245 NW 2nd Ave., in Miami's Wynwood. The artists include Scooter LaForge, Suzan Pitt and Jody Morlock. 

Ode to Andy Warhol

Book publisher Assouline, ARTnews magazine and broker Sotheby’s will be hosting an event to celebrate "Andy Warhol, the Impossible Collection" at the Surf Lodge pop-up store at 11 p.m., at the W Hotel, 2201 Collins Ave., in Miami Beach.  

Re-energize at HIVE

HIVE is a four-day cocktails and culinary village. There will be a circular mixology bar by Bitter Truth and experiences by Deep Eddy Vodka, Jack Daniels, Red Bull, Red Stripe, Chivas, Coppers's Craft, Revolucion Tequila and Jagermeister. The food hall includes PINCH, Casa Blanca, China Box, Tacos and Tattoos and Latin House. Admission is free. The event begins Thursday from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. at 2250 NW 2 Ave., in Miami's Wynwood. 

 

Saatchi Art party

 

Saatchi Art, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey and Pantone celebrate their neon art collection Thursday night  with DJ Harley Viera-Newton at the Eden Roc, 4525 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. 

 

G. Love at Blackbird

 

G. Love live will be performing after 10 p.m. at Blackbird Ordinary, 729 SW 1st Ave., in Miami's Brickell. 

SCOPE Miami Beach

The contemporary art satellite fair returns with 140 exhibitors from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday at 801 Ocean Dr., in Miami Beach. Tickets range from $150 to $35. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit their Eventbrite's page

Fake Fulfillment Center

Pop artist Shawn Kolodny's  5000-square-foot kaleidoscope-patterned rooms will be on exhibit from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday at the Boulan South Beach Hotel, 2000 Collins Ave., in Miami Beach. 

Good Bison at R House 

Pablo Alvarez and his band will be performing at 6 p.m. at the R House, 2727 NW 2nd Ave., in Miami's Wynwood. 

Moschino's party

The Italian luxury fashion house founded in 1983 will be hosting a party at 10 p.m. at the Eden Roc, 4525 Collins Ave., in Miami Beach. 

ArtNexus' party

The magazine is hosting a pool deck party at EAST, 788 Brickell Plaza, in Miami's Brickell neighborhood. 

Chance Encounters III

Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Loewe, curated an exhibit featuring the works of photographer Lionel Wendt, ceramicist Sara Flynn and sculptor Richard Smith. The store opens from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 110 NE 39 St. 

G-Eazy at E11EVEN

The rapper from Oakland, California, will be performing after 10 p.m. at the night club at 29 NE 11 St., in Miami's Entertainment District. Tickets range from $40 to $50

In Reel Life

The Miami Beach Cinematheque presents In Reel Life, an exhibit by the graphic designers of Jacober Creative. It opens at 6 p.m. Tuesday and runs through Dec. 31 at 1130 Washington Ave., in South Beach. For more information, call 305-672-3293.

Apex Predator store 

Ukrainian artist Mariana Fantich and British artist Dominic Young have a pop-up storefront showcasing their Apex Predator: Darwinian Voodoo collection of designer items adorned with human eyes, teeth, hair and bones.  The store is at 221 NW 23 St., in Miami's Wynwood.

New Spring installation

COS, a modern clothing line, and Studio Swine, a collaboration between Japanese architect Azusa Murakami and British artist Alexander Groves, present New Spring, a public art installation at 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Temple House, 1415 Euclid Ave., in South Beach.  

The Platinum House

American Express is hosting a party for their platinum and centurion card members and their three guests at the Miami Beach Edition, 2901 Collins Ave., in Miami Beach. 

Fun at The Webster

Laure Heriard Dubreuil will be using the Avery Dennison RBIS technology to customize pieces with high-definition heat transfers, 3-dimensional silicone and woven embellishments from 6 to 9 p.m. Meanwhile from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Roof Top, Italian restaurant Sant Ambroeus and Italian shoe maker Superga will co-host a party with DJ Harley Viera-Newton from 5 to 7 p.m. The 3-story boutique is at 1220 Collins Ave., in Miami Beach.  

Party all night 

1-O.A.K. , which has nightclubs in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Manhattan, will be partnering with Rockwell Miami for parties Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 43 Washington Ave., in Miami Beach. 

Pop-up at the pool

Designer Ayler Young hosts a 11 a.m. pool party with DJ Reid Waters, DJ Ruckus, DJ MOS, DJ Proper Kid, Oli Benz and Chloe Caillet.  Artist Jona Cerwinske will be painting custom T-shirts. The party will be at the Nautilus South Beach, a SIXTY Hotel, 1825 Collins Ave.

The House of Creed 

The Paris-based perfume house celebrates the opening of their new boutique from 8 to 10 p.m. at the new Paradise Plaza, 151 BE 41 St., in Miami's Design District.

Art and fashion pop-up store

German fashion designer Philipp Plein and artist Alec Andon, better known as Alec Monopoly, will open their pop-up store from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday at the Fontainebleau Hotel, 4441 Collins Ave., in Miami Beach. 

The NTH Power

The Wynwood Yard is hosting a New Orleans-inspired party with Lemon City Trio, an American jam band that mixes rock, funk and jazz. Artist Binho Ribeiro will be painting. There will also be food trucks and a centerpiece bar. The event is from 8 p.m. to midnight at 56 NW 29 St., in Miami's Wynwood. Parties at Hotel South Beach
