John Legend concert venue changed to American Airlines Arena

Venue to honor tickets purchased for Bayfront Park event

MIAMI – John Legend is kicking off his "Darkness and Light" tour Friday night at the American Airlines Arena.

Live Nation, the group promoting the concert, decided to change the venue from Bayfront Park.

The 10-time Grammy award winner will serenade concertgoers with his soulful hits, including "Ordinary People" and "All of Me."

The American Airlines Arena's website says all tickets purchased for the concert at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater will be honored.

The concert was to be held at Bayfront Park until just two days ago.

Thousands of people turned up for last weekend's Rolling Loud music festival at Bayfront Park.

The three-day event featured hip-hop artists from all over.

Concert promoters sent out info this week that the venue was changed.

The amphitheater itself seemed to be in concert condition, but the mess around the entrance, including mounds of mud and dirt, has created an eyesore.

New sod is being brought in, which workers said is routine after any big event held at the amphitheater.

Tickets to the Legend concert are still available starting at $38.25.
