NEW YORK - ABC's The Chew co-host Daphne Oz and her husband are expecting their first child.

Oz's father, Dr. Mehmet Oz, proudly made the announcement Thursday on Twitter.

"I'm ecstatic that my daughter and her husband John are expecting their first child!," he Tweeted.

The Tweet was immediately taken down, however, likely because Oz made the official announcement for the season premiere of The Chew that is not expected to air until Monday.

On the show, Oz talks about a summer trip she and her husband took to Europe and said she wanted to show a picture. She pulled out a strip of three sonogram images, surprising co-hosts Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Clinton Kelly and Carla Hall.

The 27-year-old television personality and author married John Jovanovic, an investment fund analyst, back in 2010.

Oz's book Relish: An Adventure in Food, Style, and Everyday Fun is a currently a New York Times bestseller.
