UCF graduate from Miami receives flowers, card from Taylor Swift

Ashley Silvers invited singer to her New York-themed graduation party

MIAMI – University of Central Florida graduate Ashley Silvers had a "Blank Space" on her graduate party invitation list, so she decided to write Taylor Swift's name.

Silvers, a Miami-native, hosted a New York City-themed graduation party in honor of her acceptance into the Fordham Business School class of 2018.

Swift, who lives in New York and has a hit single called "Welcome to New York," was on Silvers' invitation list.

The singer did not attend Silvers' party, but did send her flowers and a card.

"I'm so proud of you, your hard work and dedication, your excitement and ambition," Swift wrote. "I'm very lucky that a girl like you cares about a girl like me."

On the other side of the card was a drawing of a girl in New York with a line from Swift's song reading, "It's been waiting for you."

Silvers took to Twitter to express her gratitude to the singer.
