Pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe


1 pound your favorite shape of pasta (cooked according to package instructions, reserve ½ cup of the pasta water)
¼ cup olive oil
1 ½ pounds broccoli rabe, trimmed of the bottom part of the stem, cut into florets and stems
¼ teaspoon red crushed pepper
1 cup chicken stock
½ pound Italian sausage, cooked through and crumbled
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
¾ cup grated pecorino cheese

In a deep pan, heat the oil and cook the garlic until just barely golden; add the broccoli rabe, red pepper and cover; cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the chicken stock, sausage and finally butter, cook for 2-3 minutes over high heat. Toss in the pasta and parsley, sprinkle the cheese into the pasta and on top.
