FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — If you’ve been looking for an excuse to try a new South Florida restaurant without breaking the bank, Dine Out Lauderdale is back with its largest lineup yet.
More than 170 restaurants are participating in this year’s promotion, offering prix-fixe menus and special dining experiences across Greater Fort Lauderdale through Sept. 30.
The annual event was created to help restaurants attract customers during the traditionally slower season while giving diners a chance to experience new spots at discounted prices.
One of this year’s newcomers is The Wagyu House at Atlantic Village in Hallandale Beach.
The restaurant grew out of a butcher shop, and meat remains at the center of its menu. Despite its name, JP Abbas of The Wagyu House said customers shouldn’t assume everything comes with a luxury price tag.
“Most of the people that think because our name is the Wagyu, they think that we are a very expensive restaurant,” Abbas said. “So we have dishes from $22 or $20 up to $300.”
Its Dine Out Lauderdale selections offer a mix of dishes, including burrata with passion fruit, Mediterranean branzino and ribeye.
There’s also a Wagyu picanha crostini torched tableside.
Sakana Nikkei is another first-time participant, offering diners a taste of Nikkei cuisine, which combines Japanese techniques with Peruvian flavors.
“I welcome all the food lovers. They’re not going to regret (it),” owner Rosemary Batzel said.
For $60, the restaurant’s Dine Out dinner includes choices such as classic ceviche and house-made dumplings, along with a welcome cocktail.
Diners looking for Italian cuisine can head to Vitolo inside the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Chef Anthony Vitolo partnered with Rob Crosoli to bring the popular New York restaurant to South Florida.
“We came together to do something a little more family-oriented,” Crosoli said.
Through Sept. 30, Vitolo is offering a four-course, $60 menu Sunday through Thursday, featuring dishes including house-made Bolognese and lobster ravioli.
“Food is love to me, so that’s what you get when you come here,” Vitolo said.
Casa Sensei on Las Olas Boulevard is returning to the promotion with its Pan-Asian and Latin fusion cuisine.
“We have a little bit of everything here for everybody,” chef Will Reyes said. “We have prime steaks, we have seafood, we have many different options you can choose from, and everything is made from scratch.”
The restaurant is putting several of its popular dishes on its prix-fixe menu, including kimchi fried rice made with Korean beef and its signature Red Dragon Roll.
Reyes said the promotion allows diners to sample several dishes for less than they might normally spend ordering individually.
“Just one roll is like $20, $22,” Reyes said. “You can get three things for $35 for lunch, $45 for dinner.”
Dine Out Lauderdale continues through Sept. 30, with three-course prix-fixe menus available at participating restaurants throughout Greater Fort Lauderdale.
Lunch menus start at $35, while dinner options are available for $45 or $60. The promotion also includes $75 luxury dining experiences.
Special events are being held throughout the promotion, including immersive dining experiences.
