Expired tofu and roaches on the menu - ordered shut!

Mr. Lee’s Chinese Restaurant, in the Country Club of Miami area, was ordered closed following a complaint-based inspection after state inspectors documented live roaches crawling in the kitchen, dead roaches, roach droppings, expired tofu, temperature-abused food and a series of sanitation violations.

“Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Observed one live roach crawling on the wall underneath of preparation table located in front of the cook line.”

“Roach excrement and/or droppings present. Observed 8 roach droppings underneath of shelves kitchen next to empty cans, also observed 20+ roach droppings underneath of preparation table located across the cook line.”

“Dead roaches on premises. Observed 10 dead roaches underneath of kitchen shelves.”

“Stop Sale issued due to food not being in a wholesome, sound condition. Tofu expired on June 10 2026.”

“Stop Sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse. Observed tofu soup (51F - Cold Holding); ham (49F - Cold Holding) for more than 4 hours as per operator.”

“Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime.”

“Equipment and utensils not washed, rinsed and sanitized in the correct order in three-compartment sink. Do not use dishes/equipment not properly sanitized.”

“Floor soiled/has accumulation of debris.”

“Employee eating in a food preparation or other restricted area. Observed employee eating next to preparation area.”
