MIAMI – The medical consensus is that quitting smoking could reduce women's risk of breast cancer.
According to an American Cancer Society's cancer prevention study the rate of new cases of invasive breast cancer was 24 percent higher in smokers than in nonsmokers. It was also 13 percent higher in former smokers than in nonsmokers.
