South Florida among worst places to find love in U.S.

MIAMI – You can find a lot of things in South Florida, but love is apparently not one of them.

According to a new survey, cities in Miami-Dade and Broward are among the worst for singles looking for romance in the U.S.

In fact, two cities, Hialeah (#179) and Pembroke Pines (#180), nearly found themselves at the absolute bottom of the rankings of 182 cities.

The highest South Florida on WalletHub's list was Miami, coming in a sad 49th. Fort Lauderdale is equally love-depressed, ranking just 86th.

The good news is romance and passion can be found just a few miles north in the Sunshine State where Tampa (#11) and Orlando (#27) fared reasonably well.

WalletHub ranked cities based on economics, fun & recreation and dating opportunities across 32 key indicators, including online dating opportunities, nightlife options per capita and share of single population.

Here are the top cities for singles in the U.S.:

  • Atlanta
  • Los Angeles
