NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - A sewer spill has prompted a precautionary swimming advisory to be issued for an area of Biscayne Bay and a canal in North Miami.

The advisory was issued to advise against all water activities after a 63-inch sewer line broke.

Residents are urged not to have contact with water on the Biscayne Canal from 27th Avenue to Biscayne Bay, and Biscayne Bay west of the Intracoastal Waterway from Broad Causeway to the 79th Street Causeway..\

The affected areas include the Biscayne Aquatic Park and Pelican Harbor Marina.

The advisory will remain in effect until two consecutive days of clean testing.
