May 2: JBS USA, a North Carolina food processing company that supplies meat to Kroger, recalled more than 35,000 pounds of ground beef because it might be contaminated with bits of hard plastic. The beef, produced on March 22, was shipped to distribution centers in Indiana and Virginia for sale in stores in those states.

April 13: The USDA recalled nearly 207 million eggs from Rose Acre Farms of Seymour, Indiana, due to a potential contamination with Salmonella Braenderup. Thirty five people have reported becoming ill as of May 12. Brands included in the recall are: Country Daybreak, Coburn Farms, Sunshine Farms, Great Value and Glenview.

April 11: Conagra recalled 135,159 pounds of Banquet Salisbury steak and brown gravy that were produced on March 10, 2018 and have a best buy date of Sept. 1, 2019. The 27-ounce carton with six pieces of steak have a lot code of 5006 8069 10 05. Consumers are urged to throw the product away or return it to the place of purchase.

March 15: Bayer issued a voluntary recall for some Alka-Seltzer Plus products sold in the U.S. at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Kroger stores after Feb. 9, 2018. The affected packages were recalled because the ingredients listed on the front sticker may not match the product in the carton.

March 15: Handi-Craft recalled about 600,000 Dr. Brown's Lovey pacifiers and teether holders after receiving 67 reports of the ribbon fraying and the snap detaching, posing a choking hazard. The holders were sold in eight styles: giraffe, zebra, turtle, reindeer, frog, spring bunny, deer and bunny under lot codes: RICH0615, RICH0715, RICH0815, RICH1215, RICH0516, RICH0616, RICH0716, RICH1116, RICH1016, RICH0916, RICH1216, RICH0317, RICH0417, RICH0517, RICH0617, RICH0717, RICH0817 and RICH0917.

March 15: Johnsonville recalled 109,603 pounds of smoked pork sausage that might have plastic pieces inside the sausage. The company recalled 14 oz. packages containing six jalapeno cheddar smoked sausage with a 04/04/2018 best by date and batch IDs of 1001124486 or 1001124487. The products have establishment number "EST. 3422" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Consumers should throw the sausages away or returned to the place of purchase.
