Larry Darnell Peavy, of Bushnell, is a suspect in the death of 16-year-old Aleaya Maria Jackson.

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. - The Sumter County Sheriff's Office has increased the reward Monday for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a 16-year-old's homicide.

Sumter County Sheriff's Office detectives identified Larry Darnell Peavy, 35, of Bushnell as a suspect in the death of Aleaya Maria Jackson, who was found dead Nov. 5 inside a home on Pine Street after a well-being check was requested.

The Sheriff's Office contributed an additional $5,000, bringing the reward total up to $10,000.

The Nissan Sentra that Peavy was last seen driving was found Nov. 7 in Fort Pierce after authorities received information that Peavy might be at that location, but he left before law enforcement officers arrived, deputies said.

Peavy has open warrants for his arrest on charges of first-degree murder, false imprisonment, sexual assault with a weapon or force and kidnapping to commit or facilitate the commission of a felony.

"We are asking the public to come forward with any information you may have on Peavy's whereabouts," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Anyone with information about Peavy is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477) or the Sumter County Sheriff's Office at 352-793-2621. Tipsters to Crimeline can remain anonymous and still collect the reward money.

The Sheriff's Office is working along with the U.S. Marshals Service and other law enforcement agencies following all leads to capture Peavy.
