1 charged in 10-year-old boy's murder

Anthawn D Ragan, 19, charged with killing Aaron Vu

MIAMI – Police have arrested and charged a man in the murder of 10-year-old Aaron Vu (pictured, right), as well as attempted murder on Aaron's father Hai Vu, according to police.

After video footage of the shooting was released, police identified 19-year-old Anthawn Ragan, Jr. as one of the shooters, according to an arrest affidavit. Police located Ragan at his sister's house on Tuesday after a tipster led them there.

Ragan tried to flee when police attempted to apprehend him and he became violent with officers, but eventually gave up.

Ragan was then taken into custody, where he was picked out of a six-person lineup by three witnesses. A woman claiming to be his girlfriend defended him Wednesday as he made his first appearance in court.
