1 dead, 2 seriously hurt after Fort Lauderdale boat crash

FWC: 1 person ejected after boat collides with concrete dock

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – One person is dead and two other people were hospitalized Saturday night after a boat crashed into a wall in Fort Lauderdale.

It happened in the area of 3000 NE 37th Court in Fort Lauderdale.

Two boats were traveling together on the water. The parties in both boats knew each other, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

There was a total of 10 people between the two boats.

One of the boats collided with a concrete dock. FWC officials said Dalton Joseph Shirley of Hollywood was thrown from the boat. The 24-year-old was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The two other people who were taken to the hospital suffered serious injuries, officials said.
