WESTON, Fla. - Two people were charged in connection with a robbery at a Papa John's in Weston last month.

Jose Abreu and Shekinah Lewis were arrested Wednesday.

According to an arrest report, the pair robbed the Papa John's at 50 Indian Trace on August 26. Once inside, Abreu pulled out a gun and forced a clerk to give them money from the safe. An employee of the restaurant told Local 10's Ben Kennedy that the robbery suspects got away with about $200.

The robbery was captured on surveillance video.

Detectives said both confessed to the robbery.

Abreu was being held on a marshals hold.

Lewis was charged with robbery with a firearm and wearing a mask while committing a second-degree felony. She was being held on no bond.
