2 thrown from motorcycle in Miami-Dade crash, fire officials say

Victims taken to hospital in critical condition

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two people on a motorcycle were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center after a Sunday night crash in which they were thrown from the vehicle, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.

It happened Sunday night on the Palmetto Expressway at 47th Avenue.

A car struck the motorcycle, ejecting the driver and the passenger, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.

The victims were listed in critical condition.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the eastbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway were blocked.

No other details were immediately released.
