MIAMI – A man accused of stabbing a Florida International University football player to death will be heading to trial.
Lawyers for Quentin Wyche appeared in court Thursday, trying to get the charges against him dismissed on the basis of the Stand Your Ground law.
The judge denied that motion.
Wyche is facing second-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of Kendall Berry. Police said Berry was fatally stabbed with a pair of scissors outside the school gym in 2010.
Police said the incident began as an argument over a girl.
