Man shot in car dies; Suspect sought
Victim dies three days after shooting on I-95
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man shot in a car Wednesday in Broward County has died, and police are still looking for the suspect.
The Broward Sheriff's Office announced Monday that Bevins Bennett, 20, of Riviera Beach, died Saturday of wounds he suffered in the shooting, which occurred on Interstate 95 between Sunrise Boulevard and Sample Road.
Investigators said four people were in a green Kia Soul about 5:40 a.m. Wednesday when Bennett was shot.
The driver took him to the emergency room at Broward Health North. BSO said the suspect, Antoinne Robert Hester, 22, of West Palm Beach, got out of the vehicle there and ran away.
BSO is investigating the motive for the shooting.
Investigators believe Hester is still in South Florida, likely in Palm Beach County.
