Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver faces 1 year in jail if convicted

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Broward State Attorney's Office filed one count of misdemeanor domestic battery against former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson on Wednesday.

Johnson was arrested August 11 at his Davie home after he was accused of head butting his wife Evelyn Lozada during an argument. He was cut by the Dolphins shortly after his arrest.

Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning. He is expected to file a written plea of not guilty and is not expected to be in court, said State Attorney Michael J. Satz.

Johnson faces one year in jail if he's convicted.
