Body found in garage collapse rubble

Body believed to be Robert Budhoo found 6 days after parking garage collapsed at Miami-Dade College West

DORAL, Fla. – The body believed to be an electrician who was buried in the rubble after a parking garage collapsed at Miami-Dade College West last week was found on Monday.

According to Miami-Dade police, the body was found deep inside the rubble. It's believed to be Robert Budhoo.

Steven Budhoo, Robert Budhoo's brother, said rescue crews weren't able to immediately remove it because the area was unstable. Police said the physical removal of the body may take several days.

Once the body is removed, it will be identified by the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner.

Three others were killed when the garage collapsed last week. The cause remains under investigation.

OSHA and Miami-Dade County gave Ajax Building Corporation, the company that was building the parking garage, permission to begin removing debris from the site of the accident on Monday afternoon.

"We're moving as quickly as possible," said Vice President Bill Byrne.

OSHA is cataloging each piece of concrete.

Over the weekend, his family protested, upset with how long the search is taking.
