According to FHP, 46-year-old Amalia Ramirez-Marquez of Doral was traveling southbound on the state road just north of SR 90 in the inside center lane.

Ramirez-Marquez was unable to avoid the road debris that was in her path, causing her vehicle to collide with the debris and lose control.

Officials said Ramirez-Marquez's Mazda rotated clockwise and traveled into the outside grassy shoulder. The left side of her vehicle then collided into a tree within the grassy shoulder and came to a final rest.

FHP said Ramirez-Marquez was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Barbara Ramirez, 13, who was also in the car, was transported to Miami Children's Hospital by MDFR in serious condition.
