Police search for Oakland Park shooting suspect

Argument between neighbors motive for shooting, police say

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Police in Oakland Park have identified a suspect in a double shooting that left one man dead and a woman injured Sunday night.

Witnesses say an argument that may have happened days ago may be to blame for the violent attack on the couple.

Relatives say Kenny Sewell, 25, was sitting with his girlfriend, 22-year-old April Mascorello, outside a home in the 300 block of Northwest 40th Court when a man walked up and started shooting.

Sewell was killed and Mascorello was also shot, but she was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.

Police have identified the suspect as 57-year-old Victor Ramos. Investigators say that late last week, Sewell and Ramos argued over the way Ramos looked at Sewell's girlfriend.

On Sunday, Ramos allegedly showed up with a gun and shot the couple.

Detectives say Ramos is still on the run but is no stranger to the law.

In the past, he has been charged with burglary and aggravated battery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIOS (8477).
