LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – A teen was found dead in his home Monday afternoon and detectives say he was murdered.
Just before 4 p.m., Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call off of NW 27th Street after the body of 18-year-old Steven Rutty was found by his stepfather who was just returning home from work.
Rutty was last seen Monday morning by his mother before she left for work.
Detectives spent Monday night processing the scene and taking statements from relatives and friends of the victim.
BSO Homicide Unit detectives have released no other details about the case other than that the victim was found murdered inside the home.
No suspects have been named yet.
